Waxing rules & Post Care:
Please tell your provider if you are using any kind of alpha hydroxy acid, beta hydroxy acid, or retinol. As well as any prescriptions or blood thinners.
If you are using any Retinol/ lightening or active products you must stop 1 week before your waxing service.
Allow hair to be 1/4 inch or longer.
For body waxing we recommend to shower before with warm water and exfoliate. After waxing do not shave in between. Please also follow Post-wax care below.
Post- wax care
Note: Some slight soreness, small bumps and redness are common and perfectly normal temporary reactions, particularly if this is your first wax. These symptoms should subside over the next 24-48 hours. If you experience persistent redness or irritation, or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us- 707-595-0116.
Keep the waxed area clean and avoid heat and friction during the next 24-48 hours.
No hot baths or showers (cool to lukewarm water only).
No saunas or hot tubs, steam rooms or Jacuzzi’s.
No tanning (sunbathing/tanning beds).
No sport, gym or other vigorous exercise.
No swimming in chlorinated pools.
Avoid scratching or touching the affected area with unwashed hands.
Wear clean, loose fitting clothing.
Do not apply any deodorants, body sprays, makeup, or perfume to the area.
Clean all makeup brushes before using on face after a waxing.
It’s important to keep the area properly moisturized. Apply lotion to the area everyday for at least 3 day after waxing. Chose creams that are antiseptic by nature, ones that contain aloe- vera, tea-tree oil, or distilled witch hazel. Stay away from creams with fragrance as it can irritate the skin.
If you had an intimate wax, please avoid sex for 24-48 hours
To help prevent ingrown hairs: starting a few days after your appointment, gently exfoliate the skin up to three times a week using a loofah, body mitt or scrub. Moisturize the area every day to keep skin supple and help new hairs to grow through easily.
You may notice a small amount of re-growth after a week or so. It can take up to four treatments spaced evenly apart for your hair to get on a growth cycle that gives best results. Hair needs to be at least half a centimeter long before it can be successfully removed by waxing, so please do not shave, tweeze or use hair removal creams between your appointments. For best long-term results, we recommend waxing regularly every 4-6 weeks.
